Awestruck wonder...

You can see the big waves on Lake Michigan, but what you can't see is the wind...
Now, I know you can't see the wind, but, you can certainly see it's windy from this picture!
So Ryan said, "I can't see your face"...No, really? I can't help it!! Here is my attempt...
Or maybe this...nothing was going to help, short of a ponytail holder! Anaya had the right idea, face the wind! The boys thought it was funny, except of course for Easton, he was nervous. All day long he would ask "what was that?" with wide eyes. It was of course the wind, howling and banging things around. He was quite upset that we were actually going out in that wind! Poor kid!
The huge waves and powerful storms remind me one of my favorite songs (right now,)"Revelation Song" by Phillips Craig and Dean.

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And I will adore You…!
Yeah!

Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and
Glory and power be
To You the Only Wise King,
Yeah

Filled with wonder,
Awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your Name
Jesus, Your Name is Power
Breath, and Living Water
Such a marvelous mystery
Yeah...

more random thoughts...

We found the best place for Anaya to eat her sucker.....In the tub! Wow, do those ring pops ever make a mess! Problem solved! Happy baby, happy mommy!

Some of the bows I have been working on. To buy these would cost me a fortune, but lucky for Ryan;) I like to make them! Because bows are in fact...a necessity!

Tonight we went through 40 hot dogs and 40 buns, 16 sausages, 8 2liters of pop, 2 family sized bags of Doritos/Cheetos, and 1 1/2 bags of marshmallows, 1 package of chocolate, 1 big box of graham crackers, and 2 bags of Reece's Peanut Butter Cups! We started off roasting the hot dogs over the fire, but then came the rain so we ended our night with smores made in the microwave!
A fun night with the youth group=priceless!

Random stuff...

I smashed my finger this week (I can't really even explain how it happened, it involved a falling drawer)...Ouch! It is disgusting, but not broke! E.R. Doc says I should loose my fingernail in about a week! Yuckie!! I just hope it grows back...fast!
School has been going well...so far so good!
Easton has decided he is a big boy and wants to join the boys on their hunting adventures! So Ryan is taking all 4 boys hunting this weekend! I'll just have Anaya! I plan on making a few more hair bows, cleaning the house, and enjoying the quiet! It's not all that quiet though, she has been talking, and singing up a blue streak!
Today she was singing "lolly pop lolly pop oh lolly lolly lolly...." We sing it for my niece Rylie, whom we call Lolly! Every time I try to catch her on tape though...She gets...silly!

Labor Day 2009

Another fun holiday weekend "camping" with my family!

There was fishing of course,While the men caught the food, the women folk made laundry detergent. Yes, we felt somewhat little house on the prairieish, but not so much, because we had the internet to look up the ingredients, we had a heck of a time figuring out the measurements(because we didn't have the 5 gallon bucket,) and we used the food processor to make the soap into powder. Yes, we decided we would have died young if we were born back then, but we did have fun, and we got a ton of laundry soap out of the deal. So far it seems to be working well, we have done several loads of laundry with it!

More fishing...Some hair donated to "Locks of Love"Way to go Taylor, somebody is going to be very blessed to have your beautiful curly hair! On a side note, check out the sign on the hutch in the background, that I made. I finally(a year late)put my sisters wall words(of which, we both bought the exact same verse with out knowing it!)on a board which I painted and distressed. I have one almost identical, except we did get different fonts! How crazy is that, of all the verses in the Bible, we chose the same one!
5 birthdays celebrated...a trip to the beach with crazy kids swimming in freezing cold water...lots of great food, the boys were waiting~not so patiently~for their eggs!and of course... more fishing! The girls went shopping in Pentwater, while the boys caught up on their sleep from going to bed late and getting up so crazy early to go fishing! We had campfires, each with their own technical difficulties...one, we ran out of wood, and the next, well...let's just say there was an animal that was going to eat us girls so we left the fire and sat in the safety of the camper!(of course the guys were out fishing so they weren't there to protect us, we started out wielding wiener forks, but whatever it was kept coming closer and closer and faster, so we ran!) Thanks for coming up family! We had tons of fun!

Then to end out our fun weekend, my brother in law and sister in law came up with her parents and we went into the dunes. Yes, I rode up test hill...several times, even backwards...several times! YIKES! I always said I would never do that, but I did, and it was fun, scary, but fun. The boys loved it and Anaya started out scared, but ended up telling Robb to "GO!" Thanks so much guys, we had a great time!(I left my camera at home...BUMMER! It was definitely a sight to behold!)

Chicago...

I LOVE this city!!! It is so beautiful! Ryan and I are polar opposites(in this respect,) he thinks I am crazy, but..to each his own, right?!

We spent a little time downtown...
but most of our time was spent at my sisters house playing with Olivia, and just hanging out!
I have some great bribe pictures of my sisters, but I promised I wouldn't post them...for now!
Rylie is in that box! Crazy tiny girl, Eric was flipping it all around and she was loving it!
Olivia is such a sweet baby! Her Doc Band has already made a noticable difference in the shape of her head, and she is doing great with physical therapy for her neck, she has improved greatly since the last time I saw her! Thanks in large part to her wonderful mommy and daddy!

I was able to spend a long weekend in Chicago with my Mom, Sisters, and nieces(and Eric too!) Poor Eric was again way out numbered! We went shopping, out to eat, and mostly had fun just hanging out together, and playing with Olivia! I was also able to visit my very best friend since 6th grade, who just gave birth to adorable twins! My freshly recharged batteries failed me and I have no pictures to share of them! It was great to see you again Kadie, (and the whole family!)
A big thanks to my sweet hubby who lets me recharge myself, especially at the start of a new school year, it was just what I needed!
