Poor Spencer!

Spencer slid down the hill a bit last night! That kid will sleep through anything! His head must be in the dirt~what a way to start the day! Dylan said he saw 25 shooting stars, and that if he didn't wake up 4 times in the middle of the night, he would be at the bottom of the hill in the trees!

What a beautiful night!

Ryan and the boys are sleeping outside under the stars tonight! They said I could join them, however the thought of just being out there unprotected from the bugs, and whatever else roams in the night is not my idea of fun, so I passed! But it sure was beautiful out there tonight, and they were excited! Tomorrow we are going canoeing with my family, the last hurrah of summer!

BOYS!

These guys are so much fun! They all decided to dress up as baseball players and have a game! Too cute! They make forts, and ride their bikes like there's no tomorrow! They are always so good at coming up with things to do. (It helps that they know they'll be put to work if they say they're bored~it's the forbidden word in our house!)
Yesterday Spencer got 7 bee stings!(see the white spots on him in the picture below) The poor kid is already a mess from falling on his bike on the gravel, he has so many scrapes, I pulled off 4 band aids before he got in the shower! He has a huge set of lungs on him that help me to know when something is severely wrong, and boy oh boy did he put them to use when he got stung! They were "weed whacking"(smacking down weeds with sticks)and they must have hit a hive! Jayden got stung on the ear, and last night they each had one ear that stuck out from being swollen! Thankfully neither of them are allergic to bees as of yet!

Then there is Easton, who insists that Spencer and Dylan are not his brothers! He threw a stone at Dylan, and hit Spencer in the head with a stick. (we thought both incidents were accidents, until...) We told him to say sorry to his brothers and he said "dey not my brudders!" I said yes they are, and he said "No dey not, dey mean to me!" I asked if Jayden was his brother, and he said "just Jayden my brudder, not Pencer, not Dywan." I am not sure what they did, but he was not happy with them to say the least! Finally after a little time out, he now calls them his brothers and all is well once again!

Then there is that daughter of mine! Oh how I am loving doing her hair and dressing her! And enjoying her being in my arms, giving kisses, and watching her learn and do so much since she came home!

But boy, does she keep us on our toes, she is into everything! Today, I found her in our hutch! She is so much fun! I can't believe it was only 4 months ago that I held her for the first time in almost a year! It seems like she has just always been here in our family! Then there are times when it seems like it was just yesterday! The boys have been talking about how they miss Guatemala! I do too sometimes! But mostly I am so thankful to be home, and enjoying our family!

More quad riding fun!

We went to some friends house to ride the quads last night.

Look at those smiling faces, they were so excited to drive the quads that they couldn't contain themselves!!

This is Anaya's newly redone high chair.
This is all of the boys working hard to help me get it ready! Many hands do make light work~Thanks guys!
Dylan finishing off my coffee at the playground

Fun times!

We had our home study this week and it went very well. I have some more paperwork, and money to shell out, but hey, she is home, so I can't complain!!

Only a few more weeks left of these lazy days of summer, I can't believe it, where has time gone?

More summer fun!

Easton finishing off the ice cream, good stuff!

Celebrating Grama Greats birthday at Johny Carrinos, and devouring her ice cream sundae! Look at Easton's shirt, one kid always seems to come out of every restaurant looking like this!
Anaya cruising around furniture, she is getting so good at it, I don't think walking is too far off now!
Dylan and Jayden tubing with uncle Robb and Aunt Lisa.
All 7 kids on Aunt Lisa's quad!

Cooling off in the giant sprinkler!

Uncle Robb even borrowed a golf cart so Anaya and I could have a ride! Notice I am wearing my glasses~Jayden swallowed one of my hard contact lenses! At least that's what we think, I had them in cups(couldn't find my case while at my parents house)and he came by and got a drink out of one of them, and now it is gone!!! Major OOPS!! That was an expensive drink of water!!

All of the kids enjoying their own Mountain Dew!! Oh how they love to go to Aunt Lisa and Uncle Robb's house, this never happens at home!

Wow, I can't believe summer is coming to an end! With a trip to Chicago to visit my sister and brother in law, then the Olympics, and being at my parents house(with no internet) while Ryan was on Manitou Island with some Jr. highers, and their dads, we have been very busy, as usual! But we are having so much fun!

We have our first post adoption meeting with yet another social worker, so I don't know exactly what to expect, but I am sure it will go fine. I am so ready to be done with all the paperwork, and meetings, but at least we are on this side, an able to enjoy Anaya every day, and that is exactly what we are doing!

Thanks for checking in!

Swimmin', Fishin' and Skimmin'!

Anaya in "her" pool!
The guys after their successful perch fishing expedition! "Puch"(as Jayden says it) are his favorite!

We went swimming at Grama's house on Thursday, Eastons idea of swimming is to throw things in the pool or try to sit in Anaya's pool! Anaya loves the water, but is content to sit in "her" pool, she would rather be in the big pool ~ which would require me getting in! Maybe next year!

Then on Friday, after the boys went fishing with Daddy, and caught about 100 perch in about 2 hours, we had a pool party at my sisters house with some friends(Jolene actually used to babysit for me and my sisters when we were young!!) who live in Tennessee and also have a daughter adopted from Guatemala! Our boys only see each other once a year, but they have so much fun together!

Then later that night we went to the home of some other friends, and got to swim at their pool! The kids loved that since it is an in ground pool with a diving board and it is heated!! I didn't swim there either, but I might when we go back again, it looked pretty inviting!!

The kids trying out their skim boards!

Saturday, we took Taylor, Bryce and Rylie back home with us, and we had a great time with the cousins! We went out for ice cream, to the beach, and they got to go to one night of vacation Bible school at our church. Then on Tuesday my sister Steph and my Mom came to pick them up, and we went back to the beach so they could try out the new skim boards they had to buy after trying Bryce's!! Fun stuff!
There is a perfect spot on the beach where the rain water sits, and they just skim right over the sand, they LOVE it! So today I took them back to the beach, Dylan is getting pretty good at it!!
We sure are enjoying our summer break! I just ordered our home school curriculum for the fall, I hate the very thought of summer coming to an end and having to start school up again! Hopefully, when it comes in I will get excited ~ Maybe???
